Yeahh agreed lowkey Iβm pretty sure weβll get confirmation of life outside our planet within 5 years but wonder if intelligent life will be discovered
I think a sufficiently advanced civilisation thatβs achieved interstellar travel would have the necessary technology to explore humanity without needing to reveal themselves!
As to whether psychologically aliens would hold back, itβs extremely hard to say. There are plenty of examples of humans holding back regarding isolated tribes and disinfection to prevent biocontamination of other planets, so I think itβs pretty plausible that other civilisations would choose not to engage until a certain time.
fun read! itβs cool to imagine a galaxy wide civilisation that weβre not a part of ... yet

Although, on the flip side, would humans as a species really hold back on exploring a planet with life if we were to find one? food for thought
Hm interesting thought!

Agreed - some very good thoughts! Maybe the aliens are here already and we just donβt know it?
